Orange LED: The Ideal Choice to Spice Things Up

FACTS CHECKED BY  Bob Smith

When it comes to LEDs, colors play a huge role. Hence, the orange LED is a warm color that’s approachable and friendly. Also, some shades of orange relate to changing seasons.

So, with an orange LED, you can create energy—void of overwhelming feelings—and command attention alongside. Furthermore, it’s a perfect go-to if you want your space to have a welcoming feel.

Blue LED is yet another color option that falls under the excellent category. The color portrays strength, calmness, responsibility, and freshness. But, the meaning of the color could change depending on the shade.

For example, bright blue can be refreshing while a lighter hue is relaxing. And your room will gain more space with a paler shade of blue.

We’ll investigate a few colored LEDs and their benefits in the sections below.

Let’s begin!

What is Orange Light Good for?

According to a group of scientists, exposure to orange light is beneficial. So, this color helps to enhance cognitive brain function and alertness.

That said, orange light is also helpful in bringing out your glow and revitalizing your skin.

There’s more.

The orange LED light is also suitable for sleep. And it’s because it doesn’t have a blue light. In other words, it can promote the production of melatonin, a sleep hormone.

You may also want to ask about what an orange LED light can do to your eyes. In summary, it revives your circadian vision. That is, it promotes activity and alertness.

How Do You Make an LED Light Orange?

LED Light Orange

First off, you have to know that orange is a secondary color. So, you’ll need to combine two primary colors to get an orange hue. And the primary colors are yellow and red.

In other words, if you combine a red and yellow light, orange will result. But, if you want a specific orange hue, it’s necessary to adjust the lights’ intensity. That way, you’ll find the right balance.

If you can’t afford colored LEDs or you want to jump on a project, you can create one in the following steps:

1. Get your materials in place. For this project, you need the following:

  • 12v DC or 24V DC Operation
  • A maximum of 108W control for the  12V DC or 216W for 24V DC Operation
  • Three Independently controlled Knobs for primary colors, which are blue, red, and green

2. Power up the unit with a 12 – 24 volts DC power source.

3. You connect the three outputs to the RGB LED strip. Use screw-down connectors to connect the power cables to the unit for a more secure connection.

4. Afterwards, you finetune the red, green, and blue LEDs with a PWM dimmer to get your desired orange LED color. And you can achieve this by increasing or decreasing the blue, red, and green colors with the dimmer.

Is Orange Light Good for Reading?

Ideally, you should consider warm light for reading. And it’s because it relaxes your eyes. Plus, it provides a pleasant feeling. So, it’s the perfect option for completing tasks that need mental stability and reading.

Besides, it doesn’t harm your melatonin production. So, warm lights like yellow, orange, etc., are suitable for reading.

Royal Blue LEDs

Generally, blue lights are beneficial. They help with cognitive function and memory boosting. Also, it increases alertness.

Plus, it helps to regulate your circadian rhythm. In short, blue lights could help you maintain a healthy circadian level—if you expose yourself to them during the daytime.

Also, blue light is effective for killing acne-causing bacteria and treating acne.

On the other hand, Royal blue has a slightly higher wavelength than blue LEDs. And they help put the color temperature at increased reef-friendly levels.

Plus, you’ll get a bit of purple hue when you combine it with warm or neutral light.

Royal Blue vs. Blue LEDs

The significant difference between the royal blue and blue LED is that the former is a deeper color. Plus, it doesn’t make the “Windex” look illicit. Also, it’s one of the best in producing fluorescent colors in corals.

The Blue LEDs are helpful sparingly in all arrays. And it does a remarkable job of fluorescing orange and red—which is impossible for royal blue. Also, it makes the light crispier by removing the purple tint from the light.

Royal Blue RGB

According to RGB color space, royal blue comprises 88.2% blue, 25.5% red, and 41.2% green.

White LED

White LED comes from using phosphors alongside a short-wavelength LED. Since it emulates natural light, it reduces stress and boosts alertness. Or you can combine the light from different colored LEDs.

Closing Words

No doubt, colors have a psychological effect on you. And an orange LED isn’t an exception—it creates friendliness in your space. Also, blue LEDs help you focus, while royal blue boosts your alertness. White LEDs, on the other hand, enable you to relax.
