LEDs Batteries: The Basics Of LEDs Batteries

FACTS CHECKED BY  Bob Smith

Who doesn’t love LEDs? There are many reasons why this is the case. LEDs are a crucial electrical device in today’s day and age. This lighting type is popular since they are easy to install, use and maintain. To use LED lights correctly, you must use the best battery available. As there are many different ways to use an LED, there are many other batteries that you can choose. In this article, you will learn how to select the suitable LEDs Batteries for your LED depending on your choice.

1. Types Of LED Batteries

There are three primary LED batteries that you can use. The three main types of LED batteries are lithium-ion, alkaline, and NiMH.

 1.1 Lithium-ion Batteries

Lithium-ion batteries have a voltage of 3.6V. You can use these batteries 500- 1000 times. This type of battery works through the discharge process of a lithium-ion battery. During the release of a lithium-ion battery, the ions in the lithium battery jump from the negative electrode to the positive electrode. The perfect use for Lithium-ion batteries is in rechargeable products.

1.2 Alkaline Batteries

Alkaline batteries have a voltage of 1.5V. These batteries last 5-7 years of continuous use. This battery works because the chemical manganese dioxide reacts with the chemical zinc. The perfect service for alkaline batteries is in low-drain objects.

1.3 NiMH Batteries

NiMH batteries have a voltage of 1.2V. 100-500 times is the amount that you can use these batteries. This type of battery works because of the attraction between negative and positive electrodes. To be exact, the positive nickel hydroxide electrodes act in partnership with the positive hydrogen absorbing electrodes. The perfect use for NiMH batteries is in high-drain objects that you use far away from any recharge source.

2. The Number Of LEDs That A 12V Battery Can Power.

A 12V battery can power multiple LEDs at once. You can power numerous LEDs with 12V batteries in two different ways. The first way is to wire up multiple LEDs in a series. The second way is to wire up various LEDs in parallel

2.1 Wiring Up Multiple LEDs In Series

To connect LEDs in a series, you nemustine them by their ends. To do this, the negative electrode of one LED needs to connect to the positive electrode in the next LED. This is because wiring up LEDs in a series provides each LED with an equal voltage. So, you can light up 1 12V LED, 2 6V LEDs, 3 4V LEDs, 4 3V LEDs, 6 2V LEDs or 12 1V LEDs.

2.2 Wiring Up Multiple LEDs In Parallel

To connect LEDs in parallel, you need to use 1 cable to combine all of your LEDs. You need to attach the positive end of the wire to the positive end of the LED. The same goes for the opposing end of the wire, which you need to attach to the opposite end of your LED. By powering LEDs in parallel with a 12V battery, you will give each LED 12V of power. If this is the case, you can light up as many LEDs as needed.

3. Battery-Powered Led Strips

Battery-powered LED strips are a great and popular way to use LED lights. They look beautiful in any setting. Also, you can use LED strips in many interpretations.

3.1 Why do I need a battery to power the led strip light?

As strip lights are small, you can put them anywhere. However, this aspect of a strip light calls for a battery where you want and can use them (such as in places that can’t have a regular LED ) might not have access to a wire as a power source.

3.2 Which battery can I use to power an LED strip light?

Many factors affect how long the battery can power your LED strip light. For one case, if you use a bigger battery, you can power your LED strip light for longer. However, if you use a smaller battery, you have a shorter ability to power your LED strip light.

3.3 How long can the battery power the LED strip light?

Many factors affect how long the battery can power your LED strip light. If you use a bigger battery, you can power your LED strip light for longer. However, if you use a smaller battery, you have a shorter ability to power your LED strip light.

4. Battery-operated LED Strip Light Kit with Remote Controller.

Are you ready to start using LED strip lights but don’t know where to start or how? Here are a few kits to get created.

4.1 Kit component 1: 8AA Battery Holder with Switch

Before using LED strip lights, you need a battery holder. This 8AA battery holder with the switch is the perfect way to charge your batteries. This battery holder is compatible with many different batteries. It is also compact and enclosed for optimal battery protection. Due to this, you can run your batteries for your LED strip light for a long time.

4.2 Kit Component 2: LED Flex Strips

After you have your battery holder, you can get to your LED strip lights. Your LED lights can come in 3 different white light options. These 3 white light options for your LED strip lights range from warm to cool. However, you can also have LED strip lights in 15 different nonwhite colors. Carrying on, LED strip lights usually come in 20-inch intervals. A great thing about LED strip lights is that you can cut them or connect them for a shorter or longer length. They will shine brightly regardless of the size or color of LED strip lights. The shine of LED strip light ranges from 150-215 lumens.

4.3 Kit Component 3: Dimming Controllers

A fantastic thing about LED strip lights is that you can dim or brighten them. To do this, you need a dimming controller. Be careful, as there are different dimming controllers for single and RGB-colored LED light strips. Don’t worry, though, as many LED light strips have the option of an included dimming controller.
